The platform runs in the browser — no installation, plug-in or VPN is required to use the core application. For users who prefer to work directly inside Microsoft Word, an optional Word add-in is available that connects the platform's capabilities to the familiar Office environment.

In the web application, PDF documents — including scanned files — are converted into searchable text by an integrated OCR step before analysis, so no special preparation is required. In the Microsoft Word Add-In, documents are processed directly as Word files.

Kontrakte.AI is not tied to a single language model. New models are continuously evaluated and added, so the most capable option remains available. Which models are actually used in your environment can be configured individually — either from the curated model pool or by connecting your own models. All recommended models run exclusively in European data centers, but we also support models running on global data centers.

The AI combines general legal-domain knowledge from the language model with the rule sets, reference material and prior decisions configured within your organisation. The result is an analysis that gradually adapts to your standards rather than relying on generic output alone.

Kontrakte.AI is designed as a human-in-the-loop system: the AI provides a structured first pass — surfacing risks, gaps and concrete revision suggestions — while every finding remains reviewable. Reviewers can confirm, reject or amend any conclusion at any time.

The human always has the final say. Each AI finding can be accepted, overridden or replaced with your own assessment, optionally with a comment that explains the decision. Previous decisions on comparable cases are surfaced as additional context.

Yes. The processing operations comply with the GDPR. The data controller is Consiliari Software GmbH; contractual roles, retention rules and data-subject rights are documented as part of the agreement.

No. Data submitted to the platform is contractually excluded from being used to train the underlying language models. Any learning effect takes place locally within your environment and does not leave it.

All data is hosted exclusively in data centres located within the European Union. No data transfer to third countries — in particular not to the United States — takes place.
