On 29 January 2026, dpunkt.verlag published the German-language volume “Künstliche Intelligenz für Business Analytics” (Artificial Intelligence for Business Analytics), edited by Uwe Haneke, Michael Zimmer and Stephan Trahasch. The book runs to 342 pages (ISBN 978-3-98889-050-4).

It contains the chapter “Digitalisierung im Sozialwesen: KI-gestützte Vertragsprüfung” (Digitalisation in social services: AI-assisted contract review), written by Prof. Dr. Uwe Haneke of Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences together with Raphael Hettich and Benjamin Berger of Consiliari Software GmbH.

The chapter is based on a practical project with a responsible authority that reviews service agreements in the social sector. It first describes the conditions under which paper-based administrative processes operate. It then shows which tasks AI can take on in formal and in content review of contracts. It closes with experience from the roll-out and with technical and organisational lessons learned.

The chapter brings together in book form what the authors had previously presented in talks, including at TDWI Munich and data2day.

The principle running through the project also applies to Kontrakte.AI: the AI pre-checks, people decide. Every finding points to its source in the document.

You can find out how the pre-check in Kontrakte.AI works under Check. The book is available from dpunkt.verlag.
